Some “pillow refurbishment” services tell you that you'll save money on shipping your pillows to them by using one of their Prepaid Shipping Labels.
Their offer goes something like this: If you send us your box dimensions, box weight, address, phone number and email address, we'll send you a prepaid USPS, UPS or FedEx shipping label for your pillows.
Here's the bad news: There's no such thing as a free lunch.
Ultimately, you'll pay for that “free shipping service” because those costs must be recouped elsewhere, principally by compromising the quality of the “cleaning" process employed and the quality of the exterior/outer pillow shells used.

There is no minimum service order. Our cleaning and refurbishment capacity is significant. We can accommodate any quantity of substantially down and down/feather mix bed pillows – from 1 to 1000.

Our Nationwide Clean By Mail Service Order Form comprises 3 parts:
Provides us with your personal details (name, addresses, etc.), distribution details (hold for pick up by me, deliver to my home as part of my regular pick up and delivery service, pack and ship by carrier), shipping details (choice of carrier, shipping method, insurance, etc.) and payment details (credit card information, etc.).
Please note that we will not commence service unless we have a valid credit card on file.
If you do not wish to enter your credit card number on your Nationwide Clean By Mail Service Order Form, you can enter "CALL FOR CREDIT CARD" in lieu of a credit card number. We will call you for that credit card number before we commence service.
Please note: If we call and can't connect with you, we'll leave a voice message. If we can't leave a voice message for any reason (say, your voice mail hasn't been set up or your voice mail box is full), we'll send you an email. This could delay the start of our work on your pillows.
Provides us with a detailed inventory of the substantially down and down/feather mix bed pillows you’re sending in.
Although completing the Inventory of Items Sent Form is optional, it really is key to helping us address your personal preferences (identifying your favorite pillow, returning the correct pillow sizes, determining your requested fill weights, etc).
In the event no form is enclosed, we'll call you. If we can't connect with you, we'll leave a voice message. If we can't leave a voice message for any reason (say, your voice mail hasn't been set up or your voice mail box is full), we'll send you an email. This could delay the start of our work on your pillows.
To ship your substantially down and down/feather mix bed pillows to us:
Before you pack your bed pillows, please make sure that they are completely dry. Items that are damp or wet could develop mold or mildew during transit.
There’s no need to pack your bed pillows carefully. It’s ok to roll or fold your bed pillows very tightly and pack them into the smallest shipping box available.
If your pillows are being packed for you by a shipping outlet (such as a Pak Mail, PostNet, UPS or FedEx store), tell them to compress your pillows into the smallest shipping box required to accommodate your tightly rolled or folded pillows and to hold the styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap and brown kraft paper wrap. The larger the box, the more extraneous the packaging, the higher your shipping cost.
Suggestion: Use a shipper such as United States Postal Service (USPS), UPS or FedEx that provides a tracking number.

If you are a new Nationwide Clean By Mail client, we will contact you by email or phone within 24 hours of the receipt of your pillows.
The purpose of this call is two fold:
(a) confirm receipt of your pillows, and
(b) clarify your specific instructions, if necessary.
This contact may take a little longer in certain circumstances. For example, it may take a little longer if your box arrives a day prior to a weekend, a day or two prior to a national holiday weekend, or a day or two prior to our annual, week-long vacation (typically, the second full week in August).
In order to ensure that your bed pillows arrive at your front door in optimum condition, we pay particular attention to the manner in which we pack your bed pillows for shipping.
We have many different sizes of shipping boxes. We always seek to match the size of the bed pillows being shipped to the size of shipping box being used while simultaneously ensuring that we minimize shipping costs to the extent possible.
If you live in the 48 contiguous states or Washington DC, we ship via United States Postal Service (USPS) or United Postal Service (UPS), whichever is the most economical.
If USPS is the most economical cost, and you do not wish us to use USPS for any reason, we can ship UPS.
Please note, however, that it's possible that the UPS shipping cost will be higher than the USPS shipping cost. As a general rule, USPS is generally cheaper when shipping to states in the West; UPS is generally cheaper when shipping to states in the East. Generally...but not always.
If speed of delivery is more important to you than the cost of delivery in a particular circumstance, we’ll look at both speed of delivery and cost of delivery and make an appropriate decision in consultation with you.
We can ship Federal Express (FedEx), but only if you have your own personal or corporate FedEx shipping account.

If you are using a business or corporate UPS or FedEx shipping account, you must be authorized to use that account for your personal needs. If you're not the primary owner of the business or corporation, you are, most likely, not authorized to use their shipping account.
If you're not authorized to use a business or corporate UPS or FedEx shipping account, and you do so, you risk being accused of misusing business or corporate resources by your employer.
If you live in the non-contiguous states or off-shore territories, we only ship via United States Postal Service (USPS).

USPS or UPS carrier charges for return shipping are charged at the exact price charged to us by the carrier.
Unlike other dry cleaners and “pillow refurbishment” services, we make no profit on carrier charges. We’re merely trying to recover our actual out-of-pocket expenses.
On occasion, a client will query the "high cost" of shipping. Please understand that we have no control over USPS or UPS shipping rates.
At WHITE KNIGHT pillowCARE, we package your bed pillows in a shipping box that's appropriately sized to ensure that your they arrive in "ready to use" condition. After we enter the details (box size, weight, destination zip code, etc.) into our shipping system, that system provides us with comparative USPS and UPS shipping costs.
Unless you specify particular carrier preference on your Nationwide Clean By Mail Form, we'll always select the most economical shipping option.
But there's more...
Not only do we select the most economical shipping options, but, in the event we ship UPS, the rates charged to us by UPS are lower than the rates you would pay if we dropped off your boxes at a UPS Store. In other words, we charge you "wholesale" rates; the UPS Store charges you "retail" rates.
USPS or UPS carrier insurance charges (if any) are charged to you at the exact price charged to us by the carrier. UPS automatically provides $100 in free insurance if you decline insurance.
Unlike other dry cleaners and “pillow refurbishment” services, we make no profit on any carrier insurance charges. We’re merely trying to recover our out-of-pocket expenses.
We do charge for our shipping boxes.
At WHITE KNIGHT pillowCARE, we have an array of different sizes of shipping boxes in inventory. When packing your bed pillows for shipping, we always seek to match the size of the bed pillows being shipped to the size of shipping box being used.
Our prices range from _____ for a 20x12x4 box to _____ for a 20x12x16 box.
Prices vary for other sizes of boxes but you'll find our prices very competitive with, if not better than, any packaging box retailer.
Some orders may require more than one shipping container depending on the number of bed pillows being returned to you.
We’ll always endeavor to pack your bed pillows in the most cost efficient way consistent with delivering your bed pillow in "ready to use" condition.
The service charge for each item will be detailed on a separate invoice attached to each item.
The total cost for all your items will be charged to your credit card as a single transaction ON THE DAY your items are shipped. A credit card receipt for the service charges will be attached to the outside of your shipping box (in a plastic pouch).
The total of the carrier cost, carrier insurance charges (if any) and shipping box charges for all boxes shipped (there could be more than one box shipped) will be charged to your credit card as a single transaction within ONE TO THREE DAYS AFTER THE DAY your items are shipped.

We do not accept personal checks, cashiers checks, travelers checks, money orders or COD orders.
As soon as your order(s) is picked up by USPS or UPS, you’ll receive an email from the carrier which will, amongst other things, identify the tracking number, shipping date and anticipated delivery date.
In order to ensure that you receive this email, please make sure that you provide an email address when completing your Nationwide Clean By Mail Service Order Form.
WHITE KNIGHT pillowCARE assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to your bed pillows in transit back to you, beyond the limit of any carrier insurance you choose and pay for.
When you complete your Nationwide Clean By Mail Service Order Form, we ask you where carriers typically leave your parcels and whether you are comfortable with this delivery location.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the carriers and/or their agents will execute your specific instructions, such as "Leave On The Rear Patio"/"Don't Deliver On Certain Days"/"Deliver By A Certain Time Of Day"/"Do Not Deliver On Weekends".
If you have any concerns in this regard, please contact us to discuss alternative delivery arrangements, such as delivering to your nearest UPS (or FedEx store, if you have your own FedEx account). In this case, we'd write on the box "PLEASE CALL (YOUR FULL NAME) AT (XXX) XXX--XXXX ON RECEIPT OF THIS BOX".
